30TH ANNUAL WMCKA SYMPOSIUM

MAY 24th TO 27TH, 2019 (MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND)

WEEKEND RATES START AT $140. DAILY RATES START AT $110/DAY

The 2019 WMCKA Symposium will taking place, May 24th to 27th, at the YMCA Camp Pendalouan’s facilities on Big Blue Lake.4The WMCKA Symposium offers Adult and Youth paddling classes and fun. We even have a limited number of youth sea kayaks to rent for the event.  From ages 7-80+ we can get you paddling safely and confidently.

Geared towards the beginning to intermediate kayaker, the WMCKA Symposium offers 2 1/2 days of jam-packed kayak instruction with a very low student / instructor ratio. Instruction takes place on and in the warm water of Big Blue Lake. On land instruction takes place on the grounds of Camp Pendalouan which offers you all the comforts of home.

New this year - ACA Level 3 Skills Training/Assessment

This course is for anyone looking to work on a progressive learning model with one coaching team to gain a solid foundation of personal paddling skills or prepare for Level 3 Trip Leader or Instructor tracks (this course is a pre-requisite). This will take place at the WMCKA symposium AND on Lake Michigan and will be held over all three days with wrap up and de-brief on Monday morning. You will still be able to attend evening symposium programs, group breakfasts and dinners. Taught by Michael Gray of Uncommon Adventures, ACA Level 3 Instructor Trainer, L4 Instructor….lifelong expedition leader.
