2019 Year End Paddle

We're going to do something different this year...
The Grand River Heritage Water Trail is something right in our backyard. Easy to get to. Camping overnight isn't necessary if you live a reasonable driving distance from GR. We'll have an indoor facility for our dinner and meeting.

So plan to meet at the kayak launch at Grand River Park in Jenison to paddle Reach 2 of the water trail on Saturday morning. Be there in time to unload and run the shuttle.
This reach will take you downstream about 9 miles to the kayak launch at the 68th bridge in Eastmanville. Figuring this will take about 3 hours or less.

Spend a little time reading about this stretch of river here:
Grand River Heritage Water Trail (reach 2): http://www.michiganwatertrails.org/trail.asp?ait=ctv&ctid=35

So everyone should be returning to Grand River Park sometime between when the park building opens at 3 pm, and 5 PM (dinner time). If you choose not to paddle, just come for the dinner and/or meeting, that's OK too. Just show up! Eat, visit, and participate in the club meeting and discussion. Bring your ideas.

We have rented the park pavillion building from 3-9 PM. So we can get things set-up for dinner and do a little visiting between 3 and 5. The club will provide burgers and brats with buns and fixings. Please plan to bring a dish to pass to round out the meal, your table service, and your beverages.

After dinner we'll have our annual meeting and election of officers for 2020. Please consider volunteering for a officer role. If you are interested, please speak up and ask whatever questions you have in advance. We need to vote during the meeting.

After the meeting we'll have the building until 9:00. We just need to clean up by then.
